Walking by the streets of the Kuala Lumpur city could show an eye-opening view of how much the numbers of the less fortunate are increasing over the years. Those less fortunate are living the in the streets during night time or even during the bright daylight time. Some of them even have their own family to take care of and barely could make it to the next day, as most of them are relying on collecting those recyclable materials to sell as an income source for them to feed themsleves. Without suffcient collection of the recycable material, they struggle to feed themselves. Therefore, to express our gratitude as university students, and also to contribute back to the society, we are inspired to help them by launching this crowdfunding campaign.
We have set up this crowdfunding project as we are inspired to contribute back to the society by helping the homeless in the streets of Kuala Lumpur. We will be distributing goodies bags which is know as "GoodDeed Bag", that will include packed foods like bread, biscuits, and drinks. We will also be distributing basic needs like tissue papers and old clothes collected to the homeless.
As mentioned, "GoodDeed For Homeless" project is to help the homeless in the city center of Kuala Lumpur. Each goodies bag worth approximately RM 5, and we are targeting to feed 80 homeless around Kota Raya area, Kuala Lumpur. Therefore, the crowdfunding campaign target is set at RM 400. The campaign will be up until 8th December 2017, and the project will be delivered on 5th January 2018.
We are a team of five from School of Engineering at Taylor's University Lakesode Campus, namely (from left) Bruno Chin, Zi Bin, Yoong Feng, William Lo and Dylan Tong. Brief discription of our roles are as follow:
1. Dylan Tong (Team Leader)
2. William Lo (Treasurer)
3. Yoong Feng (Public Relation)
4. Bruno Chin (Public Relation)
5. Tham Bin (Logistics)
The budget plan of this crowdfunding campaign is to provide 80 pax of goodies bags to the homeless. As mentioned, the goodies bag will contain dry foods like breads and biscuit, packed drinks and also basic needs like tissue paper. Each goodies bag only cost RM 5. Thus, the total budget plan is:
RM 5 X 80 = RM 400
We sincerely looking forward to your kind and generous funding towards this campaign, with every RM 5 funded, we are able to make more homeless's day better. Therefore, we would like to express our greatest gratitude and appreciation to you in advance for supporting this campaign.
~To provide a source of avenue for the public to contribute to the less fortunate.
